In Celebration of their fiftieth anniversary RSS provides scholarships to Rock Valley College Students

Business Profile  magazine in (as excerpted from) its Feb/Mar 2001 issue highlighted Rockford Surgical Service for its generous donation of $10,000 in  scholarships to Rock Valley College (RVC). These scholarships will be awarded over the next four years to deserving students at RVC for students entering surgical technology. To meet the scholarship requirements, students must show a financial need, but also must meet the minimum GPA requirements of 2.5. 
Awarded scholarships will consist of $1,250 for each of the next 4 years. Students planning to work at Swedish American Hospital or Saint Anthony Hospital in Rockford, IL after completing surgical technology courses at RVC will receive preference.  Scholarship monies can be used for school related expenses. Rockford Surgical Service recently celebrated its 50 year anniversary as the Rockford area's leading provider of specialty surgical services. RSS and its 13 Board Certified Surgeons specialize in cardio-thoracic, peripheral vascular, trauma, head and neck, endocrine, and surgical burn reconstructive surgery. As a practice milestone, RSS recently performed their 10,000th open heart surgery in the Rockford area. In addition RSS surgeons have played integral roles in the development and certification of the Rockford, IL area trauma network.
